Nigerian women clamour for peaceful and violent free election during the up coming Presidential election scheduled to hold in eleven days time stating that peace has no religion or political party.
This call was made during a peaceful protest by the some group of women who held a peaceful rally in Abuja, Tuesday.
The group said, Nigerian women frowns at vote buying and selling in the forthcoming poll which can lead to electoral violence and may disrupt the peaceful conduct and out come of 2019 poll.
Dr Joy Onyesoh National co-ordinator Woman Situation Roomsaid that permanent voters card (PVC) serve as people’s voice and as such will stand to guard against anything that will not lead to peaceful, free, fair and credible elections come February 16th.
Dorothy Njemanze, Actress and Human Right Activist in her opinion said, Nigerian government should.provide adequate security that will aid peaceful election and also INEC officials should work hand in hand with THIs for election monitoring so that electoral malpractice would be avoided as Nigerians deserves peaceful election .
The women also called on the Police and INEC to ensure a peaceful and credible election.
